SWITCHED IDENTITY

Hey y'all,  how have you been?

Hope you're having an amazing week?

Today we'll be talking about switched identity,  that is us carrying the wrong identity.

Who are you?

Who am I?

At some point in my life, I didn't have answer for this question,  I couldn't even tell who I was except for the fact that I'm a girl, and everybody knew that.

There was a point in my life that I had inferiority complex basically on how I looked, this led to low self esteem. I had looks I wasn't really proud of. I'm blessed in height, call me miss petite, in secondary school I was called Mtn because my teeth was yellow in the lower part; what caused it is a story for another day😂. I felt my finger nails and lips were too big, then God finally blessed me with an amazing stature.

I remember few years back I hated taking pictures with people because I always felt like the ugly one, this really affected my identity and how I saw myself.

But things changed when I understood my identity in Christ. I was reminded that I was created in God's own image. In Genesis God says I'm created in His image and likeness.

At some point in our life we've switched our identity,  we didn't even understand who we are. We took on a different identity. We lived as someone else not really understanding who we are.

We've picked an identity on fear, doubt, guilt, at times we're not so sure of our real identity, at times we don't even know it. But God has called us His own, we're beautifully created by him, we're loved.

Have you tried to ask your self who you're and whose you're. Take out time to see yourself as the salt of the earth and the light of the world, do you know the importance of salt?

According to God's word in 1 peter 2:9-10 God says
".......... for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”

God calls you His own and now you've a true identity. Now I want you to know that you've an identity that brings so much confidence, an identity that scares the devil, an identity from Abba.

Then the book of Genesis says that "and God saw all He  had created and said it is good". I'm God's creation, that means I'm good. I'm enough. I'm created by the Almighty, so I'm perfect.

Understanding my identity in Christ; I'm fearfully and wonderfully made.; the analysis
Psalms 139:13-14 is one of the scriptures I love, it tells me of God's intentionality when creating me.

🌻 For you formed my inward part; God crafted me perfectly,  just like the Potter, He created me out of nothing into something super beautiful.

🌻 You knitted me together in my mother's womb; God is intentional about me, He consciously built me into who I am,this masterpiece. Have you watched a knitter creating a piece, they intentionally create beautiful pieces.

🌻 I praise you, for I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, my soul knows it very well; I'll praise you all of the days of my life because beyond you creating a masterpiece, you're super amazing, you don't create counterfeits, so every time I remind myself that I'm not just a masterpiece but I'm God's masterpiece.

So today I'm reminding you that you're beautiful,  amazing,  smart, multi-talented, you're way beyond how you see yourself.  You're God's masterpiece🌻
And today I know who I am, and I've understood my identity in Christ.
