BASIC ISSUES I FACE DURING GOAL GETTING

Heyyyyyyy,

I know it's being a while, you were probably wondering where I ran to. I was trying to stop being a lazy ass. Don't worry I'm back.

But before we start, you can grab a glass of water or you can get a glass of milk, sit, relax and read.

Today's episode will be on issues you face achieving your goals and how to solve them.

But before that I want you to understand that in goal getting enjoy the process, learn.

I get it, to achieve your goals you'll find it difficult at some point, but hey don't panic, there's a solution.

Basic issues I face during goal getting are:

๐ŸตProcrastination
๐Ÿต Fear
๐Ÿต Being consistent
๐ŸตTime

So I'll talk about each one of them and what I did and I'm doing and how to overcome them.

PROCRASTINATION

Damn this was a basic issue I faced achieving my goals, you can feel free to crown me your queen of procrastination. I procrastinated basically because I didn't feel like it, I had let my emotions control what I do.

This affected me because I was achieving little or nothing. When my procrastination had reached it's peak I'll give myself the excuse of I'm taking a break. I'm not saying it's bad to take a break, in fact, it's necessary.

Another reason why I procrastinated was that I had my life programmed, I wanted an organized life, I wanted to do a whole lot of things at the same, most of which were unrealistic. I just wanted to be perfect. At times looking at the lists of things I've to do pisses me off, I just start thinking, "where would I start from?, this is too much" I wasted so much time thinking that I ended up doing nothing.

One thing about procrastination is that you will always want to do it later, you'll always wait till it's perfect, till you have all the right pieces to complete the puzzle. But to be honest, it doesn't work that way, start small,  start with the little knowledge you have because if you don't, at the end you'll realize that you've lost so much time in doing nothing.

Another reason why I procrastinated was that I paid attention so much to things I couldn't solve. I worried a lot because it was the only way to express everything I was feeling. I wasted so much time worrying instead of me to figure out the solutions to the problems I could solve. So I spent time worrying and pushed important things forward.

FEAR
One thing I was so scared of was failure, I was scared that what if I fail at it? What if it's not perfect? What would people say about it?

TIME
At first, I thought there was no time, that the day runs too fast for me to achieve all of this but I got to realize that the issue wasn't that there was not enough time, but I was kinda undisciplined.

SOLUTIONS:

๐Ÿต Start now; start imperfect, start with the little knowledge you have. It's better to start and fail than not to start at all. Note that failure is another opportunity to learn something new.

๐Ÿต Remind yourself of what's ahead, of what you'll gain if you achieve that goal. Have a clear picture of what's ahead in your head.

๐Ÿต For every decision you make apart from asking God, think and don't let your emotions control you. Remember that every seed you sow will surely germinate, it might just take time, don't let your emotion control you, do things that you know will help you even if you don't feel like. Because by the time you've finished lazing around you'll realize you've lost so much time.

๐Ÿต Break your goals into achievable bits. So that your tasks won't look too scary for you and making you worried. There are times I want to read a book and I look at the pages probably it's 373 or more than, maybe I'm at page ten or so and I know I want to finish that book in a month or so. Do you know what I'll do? I'll break the book into chapters or pages, maybe I take one or two chapters per day. At times I do not read the one or two chapters straight, I might break it into parts,  I'll read the different parts at different time in that day.

๐Ÿต Set deadlines for yourself. Be disciplined enough to follow those deadlines.

๐Ÿต Avoid distractions. I could remember one time I was reading a book for more than 3 months and I was nowhere near half of the book. Do you know what someone told me? He said, "dedicate just one hour to read the book". By the time I did that I realized that I could cover more than I did, what happened before was that I was distracted by a lot of things.

๐Ÿต For time, I started using a time stamp, so I started accounting for what I did every minute. Yeah I journal a lot it does help.

๐Ÿต Tell yourself the truth. I was lazy and I had to acknowledge it, I don't see any reason why you should lie to yourself. Stop giving yourself unnecessary excuses, tell yourself the truth.

๐Ÿต Be accountable to both yourself and someone else. Get an accountability partner. Yes because at times what you need is a push from someone. When I set some goals and I know I've to account to someone, it makes me want to do it.

๐Ÿต Set goals that are feasible

๐Ÿต Avoid being complacent

๐Ÿต For my consistency, I started being consistent with little things.

I hope I've helped you to an extent

Remember that you're always loved๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

PS: If there are other issues you can say them in the comment section so we'll talk about them in one of my blogs.
